AI TRENDS AND INSIGHTS
AI Impacts Outsourced Jobs, Not Yet Domestic Roles- According to the MIT "State of AI in Business 2025" report, AI is currently affecting outsourced and offshore labor more than domestic jobs. Short-term job displacement is limited (~3%), but long-term projections show up to 27% of roles could be impacted. Notably, businesses are cutting costs by canceling outsourced contracts rather than laying off internal staff, with half of AI budgets dedicated to sales and marketing.
AI Set to Power the Next Tech Supercycle- Philippe Laffont of Coatue Management argues that AI will likely trigger a massive tech-driven boom, comparing it to past milestones like PCs and cloud computing. Industry investment surged from $152 billion in 2021 to $365 billion in 2025. He predicts new AI-focused cloud players, increased GPU demand, and a U.S. market cap rising from under 50% to 75%.
